This module shows an image in the background (could be a map) and a legend next to it with all associated entities on the Drupal site, that are linked to that map. When a user then selects an item in the legend, the object will be highlighted in the map.
It comes with a few extra features like showing the current position of the user, e.g. if digital signage displays are being used.
It can also connect to Google maps with a link to the directions from the current location to the selected location on the map.
While this is probably close to your use case, it's not really made for that. I guess, you may want to look for Google API integrations here.
