Acquia and Pantheon, and likely other popular Drupal hosting providers that offer search do not give direct access to Solr Cores, however, there are workarounds when upgrading from Search API Solr 4.2x to 4.3x.

Pantheon's work around is found here: https://www.drupal.org/project/search_api_solr/issues/3401710 πŸ’¬ Updating to 4.3 Errors Fixed

For Acquia: You have to go into the Acquia search settings per environment (Dev, QA, Prod, etc.) and delete the index and then create a new index. In addition to creating a new Search API Solr server, changing config sets, reassigning indexes, etc.

Could we please make a documentation page to keep this in a central location and then link to it from the 4.3x release notes? It'll likely save some people time and less ticket creation in the long run.
