Allow providing simple select options for text fields

Problem/Motivation

It would be nice if users could configure a simple select/dropdown list of text values that could be used to populate simple text fields like the name and notes. This could potentially be used for entity reference fields as well, so advanced users could pre-configure select dropdown options for entities already in their system (specific fields, specific taxonomy terms, etc).
