Collaboration with ui_suite_dsfr

Problem/Motivation

dsfr → theme was first released in April 2023 → , has currently 19 known installation and was last updated in July 2023

ui_suite_dsfr → was first released in March 2023 → , has currently 38 known installation and was last updated in November 2023.

Both have a different approach:

  • dsfr is an "usual" Drupal theme, adapting as much Drupal templates as possible to make them fit with DSFR design system
  • ui_suite_dsfr is implementing DSFR design system artefacts (components, fundamentals, layouts, schemes...) as Drupal plugins, exposing them to site building.

However, because we share the same goal, we may have opportunities for collaboration.

Proposed resolution

No proposal yet, but it would be nice to have a meeting, to see if we can help each other.

    Thank you for your interest in our work.

    The DSFR theme → was last updated in November 2023, but we tend to commit to the dev version and had neglected to increment the RC version. This will be corrected.

    We currently have around a hundred sites to migrate to this theme, but I doubt these sites will be counted because the update module won't be activated...

    Indeed, the DSFR theme → for Drupal is intended to be an easy-to-use theme for classic Drupal use. Our goal is to make the implementation of the State Design System as easy and straightforward as possible for site designers.
    We welcome any help you can give us.
