I think you are possibly using core's Media Browser, and not the entity browser?
@Dave Reid, No we have created a new entity browser from entity browser config page and configured things over there.

I'm getting the same thing.
- Created an entity browser with Upload and Embed code widgets.
- Created a Media Entity Reference field for Image and Remote Video
- Edit the content type containing the above field
- Try entering URL or Embed code for YouTube and I get the subject error.
Try creating a Remote Video from Media admin, it works.

I've experienced the reported issue after upgrading to 10.x, to fix it I've updated the entity browser I was using, on the Widgets sections tabs, I've removed the embed code one and added a new widget for Entity form
In that way we gonna start using the Drupal 10 default remote video instead of a third-party one.
