Support facets_block module

Created on 29 September 2023, about 1 year ago

I am using this with facets block https://www.drupal.org/project/facets_block β†’ which groups together multiple facets in one block.

When using this module it will only hide the top facet, out of 10+ that I have in a block as filters.

I want to show an "advanced filters" section but have it in a collapsiblock so that it doesn't look a mess and neatens up the page.

Clicking collapses just the top filter/facet in and out, so it does work but the remaining 9 facets/filters are still showing.

    Hi @EffortDee,

Apologies for the delay, $dayjob is busy ;)

It sounds like you're getting into some pretty complex use-cases there. This module doesn't advertise automatic compliance with all contributed modules or even all themes, it has many limitation and is really intended to help get new users off the ground with simple sites. I suspect you have reached a point where you will need to implement your own collapsing behaviour for your site rather than rely on this module.

I am changing this to a support request since this seems outside the scope of the module's intention to me (as the maintainer).

That said: this module assumes that blocks have one title div, and one content div: I suspect facets_block has more than one content div, one for each facet. If you were to override the template that generates that block and wrap the "for" loop in a single div I think you might find you get the behaviour you're after.

Happy to discuss here if you want/need more help.

I'll close this ticket if there's no activity for a month or more :)

    Hi @darvanen
I have checked this issue and tried to reproduce it. I displayed fasets using the facets_block. To test I was added several fasets to the block.
All content in the block body are hiding or displaying as expected.
I think that the Collapsiblock module is fully compatible with the Facets Block module and the issue needs to be closed as fixed.

Thanks @bobi-mel appreciate you checking this out.

@effortDee: here is your chance to expand upon the problem if you disagree with @bobi-mel's review. If there has been no change after two weeks I will close this issue as "works as designed" (because that is more accurate).
