Improve Field Configuration Setup

Problem/Motivation

We use "all_fields" in the config, but it should be "search_fields" now that DataTable retrieves fields beyond the search fields so the name is mis-leading now.

We should also remove the "base_fields" configuration and associated code since it is based on a legacy assumption/approach as well.
