Found a duplicate: 💬 Sitewide Administrator permissions not working Closed: works as designed
After upgrading from 1.5, group access permissions for the first user are not correct. We have about 80 groups. While logged in as user/1, for one of the groups, I have full management access. For many of the groups, I am able to only manage nodes. I am not able to edit the group entity, manage members of the group, or delete the group. For the rest of the groups, I do not appear to have any permissions beyond viewing. I'm primarily looking at the admin/group page and relying on the management buttons in the right column to see what permissions I have for most of the groups.
There was one group that appears to me that I have no permissions, but when I click the title of the group, I see the full set of management tabs at the top of the page.
I tried going to admin/reports/status and rebuilding permissions, but that didn't seem to have any effect.
