Store images locally to use caching and image styles

Problem/Motivation

The module does not store the NASA images locally in the file system and therefore is not cached and can not use image styles. Some of the images returned are rather large (i.e. > 3 MB in JPG and GIF formats).

Proposed resolution

Integrate the Imagecache External module → to store the image and allow using image styles.

There are several different ways to achieve this within the Drupal ecosystem and after discussion with others, should not be tied to a specific implementation. The decision is best left to site builders and developers to implement the solution that best fits his/her needs.
