After installing this module the Configuration Synchronize page /admin/config/development/configuration takes a lot longer to load on our Pantheon hosting environments. Previously, the page would load in about 12 seconds, but with this module it now takes about 55 seconds to load. When I also use the Config Ignore module, the page loads in about 58-65 seconds, often exceeding the 60 second timeout on our webhost, Pantheon.
On my local environment, the page's performance is not affected by these modules. This performance problem on Pantheon may be partially related to this issue https://drupal.stackexchange.com/a/304194/90323 because the config folder is not writable there for security reasons. Since I can't change the permissions on that folder, is there anything else that can be done to improve performance on this page? I can't use these modules if they're going to make that page timeout.
For context, our config folder has about 3800 config files.

I don't know what the cause could be. But Config Filter 2.x is likely slower than Config Filter 1.x and if you switch to Config Ignore 3 you can turn config filter off completely.
I would have to profile it much more. So unfortunately I can not give you a satisfying answer.
