conditional fields doesnt react upon change in user status

Problem/Motivation

In the User entity type, I want a field to be visible or hidden depending on the value of the status field . But no matter what i use I cannot get it to react upon a change in the status (active or blocked) . I tested with other fields and it does work correctly but not with the status field
