We need to ensure authorizations can be voided or captured and completed payments can be refunded through the UI. These functions already exist for payments initiated via the Card Element, so hopefully the code does not require much (or even any) adaptation to work for payments initiated via the Payment Element.
Let’s also ensure these are the right sets of operations for Apple Pay and Google Pay payments. If our options differ for those wallet services, we need to document that somehow. I think they should support the same operations since they’re just providing credit card tokens of their own to the payment gateway, but it’s worth testing.

I made some follow-up changes, though, as the code we copied from Card Element was naive and also still permitted payment updates even when an exception was thrown.
