Paragraphs is a terrible name for something that will frequently contain actual paragraphs within it.
what is a better User interface word for drupal paragraphs?
block, component, paragraph what to call this sort of thing in drupal?
Rename paragraphs to "Slices"
WordPress uses 'Blocks', which even if that were significantly better is too overloaded within Drupal. (SquareSpace uses blocks for drag-and-drop components also.)
Even calling "building blocks", too generic and overloaded.
SquareSpace (and Drupal's own layout builder) uses "Sections" for something that is slightly analogous, sort of different purpose but the same stack of horizontal rectangles quality. Sections however in regular usage implies an important division or categorization, not a mere layout form factor.
Component is an obvious generic term, used also in Drupal's layout manager, for more the block approach, multiple components in a section.
Bricks is the name for another approach, https://www.drupal.org/project/bricks → that seems pretty good but
"Slices" gives the concept of vertically stacking without any of the baggage.
Do another review of Drupal blocks vs paragraphs vs gutenberg vs bricks vs layout manager vs building our ideal—structured content inserted into freeform design—to confirm we don't want to switch away from paragraphs entirely right now.

Everywhere that now says Paragraphs or paragraph that a non-builder user can access will say Slices or slice.
