Hello, I need help with the following issue.
I have a content type: Vacations request. Users who submit a request take time off for a certain number of days. The request can be paid or unpaid, and based on this, the corresponding number of days is deducted from their balance. The Node is not published yet because an admin needs to approve the request.
The problem is that when I access the admin panel, the days are deducted from the admin's balance instead of the user who submitted the request. How can I specify the author of the node and ensure that the days are deducted from their balance?

Well, yes. If the admin is updating the node, and you work with the user entity, that's the current user, i.e. the admin. You need to store the submitting user with the node and then, when the request gets approved, load that user into an entity and deduct the number of days in that entity.
