I have checked your issue in my case there was no .git directory in the root after install this module.

I have noticed that each time I update Super Login, a .git folder appears in the root.
This might be intentional but I'm curious as to why it is there because it causes me problems with my Git GUI client which starts asking questions about 'sub-modules' that I don't really understand how to deal with.
Should it / does it need to be there in the release?
