Use semver

Currently, the module uses a 8.x-1.x branch. Drupal.org already supports semver. The module should use semver. Therefore, a 2.x branch can be created.

This can be part of the ongoing works for the Drupal 10 release.

Created 2.x branch, Drupal 10 release is being merged there (alpha quality currently).
