Unable to update module to 2.2.4

Created on 25 July 2023, 11 months ago

Problem/Motivation

Cannot update to version 2.2.4
Currently on Drupal 9.5.9 and module version 2.1.1

Steps to reproduce

Access site directory in terminal. Run composer command.
composer require 'drupal/editor_advanced_link:^2.2'

In my case, the output says:

Running composer update drupal/editor_advanced_link
Loading composer repositories with package information
Info from https://repo.packagist.org: #StandWithUkraine
Updating dependencies
Nothing to modify in lock file
Installing dependencies from lock file (including require-dev)
Nothing to install, update or remove

I have cleared cache in Drupal using devel. I ran cron and database update. It just doesn't update in Drupal.

Any pointers are appreciated. Not having the updated module is throwing a critical error in Drupal.

Composer is not recognizing a need for changes. The info.yml file for this module confirms version '2.1.1' is in my directory.
Is it safe to try to manually update a module by replacing the files?

I went ahead and removed the module using composer remove. I then used composer to install the module. Hopefully no data was lost, but I needed to get something done fairly quickly. I guess it's "resolved" but I don't know why it was having issues.
