It is unclear what it what you want to do here.

The title say: "Taking over the Switches namespace", which indicates that you think that the existing project is obsolete, and you want to archive its current branch and start a new project in the same namespace. How to do this is described here: https://www.drupal.org/docs/develop/managing-a-drupalorg-theme-module-or...

However, the body says: "I want to maintain this project to update this for Drupal 10 (and beyond)", which indicates that you want to be made an owner of this project and intend to continue, maintaining it. If the latter is the case, the required procedure is described here: https://www.drupal.org/docs/develop/managing-a-drupalorg-theme-module-or...

If the latter is what you want to, please note the following:

    1. The title should be: "Offering to maintain Swiches".
    2. If enabled, use the Contact tab on the owner profile page to contact the project owner, asking to post a comment on the issue you posted.
    3. If you contacted the project owner, or one of the maintainers, report in the issue summary the users who have been contacted for the offer and how.

A more complete description of your motivation behind creating this issue shall be appreciated.

Thank you for offering to help out maintaining this!

The present team of maintainers is still around. We need to hear their opinions about this. I've sent a PM asking for them to comment here:

  • Unfortunately, we have built our sites around switches and the other two modules would require additional work (versus just updating to D10).

@gisle Maybe with our help, we can grow the module. I'm a bit surprised that there are no installs (we are using the actively module on many sites). We could break this off to our own custom module, but would rather keep it open for the community to use.

OK, I am going to proceed processing with this.

The present owner and some of the maintainers are still around. We need to hear their opinion about this. I've sent a PM asking for them to comment here:

Hi all, thanks for the offer and for pinging me through the contact form to become aware of this issue. My apologies for missing the notification back in May and having this get dragged out so far.

I'm fine with adding you as a maintainer on the module and letting you carry it forward. I haven't touched this in a really long time, so I have no real investment in it any further. I've also pruned the maintainer list to only those who have had much activity in it historically, so there should be a smaller list of people to work with now.

I've now added bbeversdorf as a maintainer on the project, so I'll go ahead and close out this issue. Thanks for your help coordinating and pushing this forward gisle.
