Suggested update to Readme.md re the cookies_gtag module

Created on 29 June 2023, 12 months ago

Hello again gresko8 :)

I have been playing with this module which seems to suit our requirement to ensure our Google Analytics tags respect Google's Consent Mode.

Because we load GA through Google Tag Manager, we have had to change our configuration from using the cookies_gtag module to disable GTM until the user gives consent. Instead, we always load GTM but we ensure that any tags which are loaded through GTM respect the user's wishes.

Your module allows us to ensure Google Analytics respects users' consent settings - i.e. we put the GA service in the tracking group, and if the user declines consent for the tracking group, then the GA pixel sends a web request to the GA servers and doesn't drop any cookies.

So, I think it might be worth adding the following line to the Readme.md file to help other newbies such as myself when they're trying to get to grips with consent mode:

"If you use Google Tag Manager to load e.g. your Google Analytics tag, you may wish to uninstall the COOKiES Google Tag (cookies_gtag) module to ensure that your Google Tag always loads, which in turn will allow your Analytics tag to run in consent-denied mode. With the cookies_gtag module enabled, if a user doesn't give consent, the Google Tag may not be unblocked and as a result you may not be able to collect any tracking data at all about their visit."

Hopefully the above makes sense and will be helpful to users of this module.
