Destination URL and second email after validation

I'm using Simplenews with the Symphony Mailer and have the following token: [simplenews-subscriber:combined-url].

Everything is functioning properly: the user is redirected to confirm the email address and then redirected to the homepage after validation.

I would like to add two more options:

1. A destination URL after validation (for example, /node/7).
2. Sending a second email after validation to thank the user for subscribing.

The URLs for these options are: admin/config/system/mailer/policy/simplenews.subscribe and admin/config/system/mailer/policy/simplenews.validate.
