Marking as postponed as I don't think this will be part of the initial 1.0 release.

There are some things that don't match well with JSON:API that are more rightly considered procedure calls and so encouraging people by design to use them both in tandem would be neat/good.
I agree that this would be a useful feature. Likely part of a later phase though.
