Please warn users that this module is not fully usable for headless systems

Created on 7 June 2023, over 1 year ago

Problem/Motivation

Because of

https://www.drupal.org/project/group/issues/2872645 🐛 Creating `Group` content is impossible via REST, JSON:API and GraphQL due to `$context['group']` being required in checking `create` access Needs work
https://www.drupal.org/project/group/issues/3314539

Group cannot be used in headless scenarios with write permission (POST, PUT). Maybe there should be a warning somewhere
in the description text of the module.

These are core bugs/flaws, sadly. As I wrote three years ago in the 2nd issue you linked to:

A better solution might be to have REST, JSON:API and GraphQL allow you to specify the context parameters for the access check. Or to have core provide a way to do so so that the three aforementioned modules can simply use that system.

Please open up a core issue for this and feel free to ping me on Slack or report back here so I can keep tabs on it.
