Smart Date Recurring does not seem to work

I have installed the smart_date_recur module and set my smart date field to be "unlimited". To test this out I've added a few dates/times to an event, and set it to display as Recurring, but to only show 1 recent and 1 upcoming event. It seems that no matter what it always displays all 3 dates/times. If I add even more dates/times to this event those also show. Basically, it seems to ignore whatever settings I put enter in there.

Actually I realized I didn't need unlimited date fields, but instead needed to enabled " Allow recurring date values" on the field settings. Resolved.
