Case Sensitivity Issue in ExternalAuth Module Leads to User Account Mix-up

Problem/Motivation

I encountered a case sensitivity issue while using the ExternalAuth module in Drupal. The problem arises when authenticating users with external providers, as the module's query for user account lookup is not case-sensitive. As a result, user accounts with similar usernames but different capitalization are being mixed up.
