No way to edit form widgets on Task create/edit pages

Problem/Motivation

Forgive me if I am missing a trick here but I cannot see any way to adjust the order of fields and/or the various widgets on the Task Create or Edit forms.

This seems very restrictive for sites with (say) a large number of possible Task assignees as we would certainly want to wheel in line commonly used front end widgets such as Select 2 etc.

I assume that a Task is an Entity type in which case the above ought to be quite easy to enable?

I suspect that users want to use Path auto to set up URL aliases too.
