Clarification about usage of this module

Howdy,

I have installed this module in a Drupal 10.0.9 test installation, and would like to understand how the module works and also confirm whether it is actually working as expected.

The module installs without problems, and I can now see that "Count" and "Expires" columns have been added to the banned ip table at /admin/config/people/ban.

I have setup the Initial unban period setting to "One hour" at /admin/config/system/auto-unban.

If I ban an IP address, I can see it added to the table at /admin/config/people/ban, where the expiration date and time are also displayed.

When a banned IP address expires, under the "Expires" column the expiration date is replaced with an "Expired" string.

My question is whether the IP addresses that have expired have been unbanned. I am assuming that is the case, but I would like confirmation.

Thank you in advance for your response!

Yes, the expired IP addresses are now no longer banned.

This module is best used in conjunction with something like perimeter, which will automatically ban an IP, so that you don't have to do this manually.

    Hi douggreen,

Thank you so much for the clarification.

I will look into the Perimeter module. Thanks for the info.

I'm closing this issue, as it was more of a support request that has been answered.
