Skip requests to the API when the API key is missing

Problem/Motivation

Saving multiple entities will synchronize many times to Apple News. This is the expected behavior. However, in our lower environments (local, staging, pre-prod, ...) we don't need this. In fact we don't even set the API key there.

Proposed resolution

Let's skip all operations if the API key is not set.
