The installed version of the JSON:API module is too old to update. Update to an intermediate version first (last removed version: 9401, installed version: 8701).
I am getting the above error while upgrading the drupal from drupal 8 to drupal 10. While executing the update.php, it throws the error below:
The installed version of the JSON:API module is too old to update. Update to an intermediate version first (last removed version: 9401, installed version: 8701).
Please help if anyone has faced this issue as jsonapi is moved into the drupal core.

It's likely this issue predates Contrib.social: some issue and comment data are missing.
This is a support request because Drupal is properly reporting the situation.
IIRC you have to upgrade to a certain version of Drupal 9, then check all site reports, before upgrading to Drupal 10.

Upgrades to Drupal 10 are supported from Drupal 9.4 or later.
