Drupal requires a transactional database (see https://www.drupal.org/node/2278745 β ) and I believe Aria, like MyISAM, is non-transactional. You should use InnoDB instead.

I donβt see any evidence of an effort to support Aria storage engine. That kind of thing would usually be incubated in a contributed module before being incorporated into Drupal Core.
