This one is next. Might be good to mock up what we're looking for here first before starting to hack on it.
In addition to the gear, we discussed adding a status icon and message that informs the user when the preview is out of date. This "needs refresh" status will inform users that the preview is out of date and they should click the preview window to update it. Clicking the preview window will change the focus from the field that caused the need to update and then refresh the preview.
