Considering it was inspired by GitHub, would it help to look over how the Funding files work in their documentation? https://docs.github.com/en/repositories/managing-your-repositorys-settin...

I should have skimmed through these guides before asking the dumb question https://www.drupal.org/docs/extending-drupal/contributed-modules/contrib... β
It's likely some of the current funding providers do not link to the correct URL due to those examples not being available.
You mean actual Drupal examples?
It could well be that there aren't any Drupal users or project using several of these providers.
For example you can see the IssueHunt patterns for repositories (https://issuehunt.io/r) and users (https://issuehunt.io/u)
The pattern/slug looks right for Ko-Fi - but if you search on Drupal https://ko-fi.com/explore nothing comes up - even a search for 'wordpress' brings up just a few example - which is a pretty good indicator that (aside from maybe TideLift) we don't need to support any providers beyond the working examples we already have.

While a search on Drupal brings up a few projects on Tidelift https://tidelift.com/lifter/search?q=drupal, the urls don't follow the same pattern.
Looks like the reason is the pattern is something like tidelift.com/funding/github/
It's dependent on GitHub Sponsors https://tidelift.com/subscription/how-to-connect-tidelift-with-github
Even when it spits out the url, there's no clear/obvious way to fund an individual project or user on Tidelift - for example
https://tidelift.com/subscription/pkg/npm-gulpHonestly I haven't really looked at the technical details of supporting the same providers as GitHub sponsors because linking to providers usually has no benefits unless the user or maintainer enjoys asking for money. Open Collective, GitHub Sponsors, and Patreon (to a certain extent) are different because they offer a variety of tools and resources.
I'd recommend we only support the ones already working - direct folks interested in these other providers to this excellent guide - https://www.drupal.org/docs/extending-drupal/contributed-modules/contrib... β

Made a testing github funding yaml page (https://github.com/daggerhart/funding) and updated all the urls in the table above.

Fixed. Using the example I created, I updated the providers that were producing the wrong urls.
Automatically closed - issue fixed for 2 weeks with no activity.
