Missing blocks

No, not really, I've been using it myself from day one on several sites, without the slightest problem -- or else I would fix it :-))

Could you be a bit more specific? Can you assign the blocks in the Compact theme? Maybe you lost the previous assignments (although this isn't supposed to happen, either) but you can re-assign them again?
