As of today, if I am correct, Lockr customers only get automated notifications from somewhere before a certificate expires in any keyrings. This could lead to problematic issues...
Probably multiple ideas can be implemented at the same time...
1. As far as I know, certificate expiration is stored on Lockr's API backend therefore, the API backend could send out automated notifications to customers...
2. Drupal could also send automated email notifications to a predefined email address... although that could still be a slippery slope if email sending is not working in an environment for some reason and hosting does not know about that (could happen...)
3. hook_requirements()
can also display a persistent warning on admin pages (for super admin-like users) before the credential expiration. (See

) Even if this is a good addition, it could not replace automated notifications.
