Can Segments include % Argument

Would it be possible to allow 'Provide a static URL segment(s) to prefix aliases?' to accept % arguments? We currently have a view where we can use the first argment to switch the 'Segment'. This would be incredibly helpful.

Any ideas or suggestions would be very helpful.
