Edit image properties in ckeditor doesn't recognize the inserted image

You very likely have image uploads enabled in the CKEditor plugin settings of the text format you are using (see attached screenshot). This is documented in the Insert module documentation: https://www.drupal.org/docs/contributed-modules/insert/configuration#s-c... →

You have to turn off this setting in order to use the image properties dialogue in combination with the Insert module. Go to /admin/config/content/formats and configure your text format unticking the checkbox at "Enable image uploads" in the CKEditor plugin settings section.
