Suffix content not indexed by Drupal site search ?

Suppose my node alias is example.com/cheese and with suffix is example.com/cheese/recipes

When I do a site search at example.com/search the content on example.com/cheese is found and the page example.com/cheese is listed in the search results but the content on the suffix url example.com/cheese/recipes is ignored and the suffix url is not listed in the search results.

I guess because Drupal's search is not recognising the suffix url as a url to be indexed.

Does anyone agree and if so any ideas please for fixing this?
