composer install fails at Installing belgrade

fatal: cannot repack to clean up

I have cleared cache and it fails everytime at this exact same spot. I do get the following error above...

- Installing drupal/belgrade (dev-2.0.x b364e35): Cloning b364e35c3f from cache
Install of drupal/belgrade failed

Further up I see:
- Syncing drupal/belgrade (dev-2.0.x b364e35) into cache with no errors:

If I go to the .composer/cache directory after it fails I do see the '/home2/ifzu9a5h/.composer/cache/vcs/https---git.drupalcode.org-project-belgrade.git/' directory.
