A recent design review of other Drupal work came back with a suggestion we could reuse. Regular editors don't want a lot of options. They don't benefit from a lot of the controls and a quickly overwhelmed by choice. They specific don't understand what a "view mode" is and don't see the value in using it. As developer we see it's value and removing something like "View Modes" from all of core would be pretty devastating but for our preview perhaps we can make a few changes.
For us what that could mean is:
* Hide the view modes behind content type / user settings "Advanced features"
* Maybe hide the "open in new window" button behind "Advanced features" too.
* Just have the refresh button (which may eventually go away in phase 2) and the close button
* Maybe keep the original preview button where it is?
Let's discuss the impacts of this.
