Unable to install after copying code from core MR

Want to roll a MR fot the other issue, but can not install 1.x-dev. Its composer package requires D8 (sic).
The problem is not in beta3.

composer install drupal/sdc:1.x-dev

Maybe re-add core_version_requirement

Yes that's how i understand good cooperation, and that's why i put that in our project.
We're in a ecosystem which needs to be structurally conservative, so coordinating change impulses is highly important to not waste precious lifetime.
