Search results not excluding hyphen

If you want test tes1 abc to match a text containing test-tes1-abc, then you don’t want the hyphen ignored, you want it treated as whitespace. Setting hyphens to be ignored will just remove them from indexed text and keywords, so what gets actually indexed is testtes1abc.

In case you are using the Database backend, you can enable partial searching in the search server configuration. Otherwise, please consult the documentation of your backend plugin – this behavior is neither specified nor controlled by the Search API module itself, but an implementation detail.
