Drupal 9 version

I just released https://www.drupal.org/project/messageclose/releases/8.x-1.1 → (better late than never) to support D9.

I need this myself, so working on a plan for D10. Don't be surprised if this plan might actually end up being: don't use this, use what olivero does at the theme level.
