Regex not standardized - causes data loss

I don't have a reproduction handy. But it intermittendly happens for me. But at least all replacements of the svgs should use the same regex, no? When searching for svg-inline--fa three different regexes are present. Which looks strange by itself. ( https://git.drupalcode.org/search?search=svg-inline--fa&nav_source=navba... )

You are completely correct. Not sure how that happened. Re-rolling against current dev.
