3.1+ disables containerized search on local

Problem/Motivation

Upon upgrading from 3.0.9 to 3.1.1 (and 3.1.2) I'm no longer able to run search as "standard" on my local using docker/ddev and config split.

receive the following error message:

Drupal\search_api_solr\SearchApiSolrException: Solr endpoint http://solr:8983/ internal Solr server error (code: 0, body: , message: Solr HTTP error: Authentication of search content failed url: ). in Drupal\search_api_solr\SolrConnector\SolrConnectorPluginBase->handleHttpException() (line 1039 of /var/www/html/docroot/modules/contrib/search_api_solr/src/SolrConnector/SolrConnectorPluginBase.php).

Steps to reproduce

  • Be using:
    • search api: 8.x-1.28
    • search api solr: 4.2.10
  • Upgrade Acquia search to 3.1+ and run drush cr and drush updb
  • Navigate to /admin/config/search/search-api and the "local" version of search api sever no longer works.

Using the following containerized settings for ddev

  • solr connector: standard
  • solr host: solr
  • solr port: 8983
  • solr path: /
  • solr core: dev

in production using acquia connector w/ config split for each env. settings.
