I'm seeing this behaviour on 4.1.3 with no access modules installed. Sitemap stays in "pending". The error occurred after upgrading the module to 4.1.3 on a site previously using the 3.0 version: the sitemap was working before the upgrade with nodes, menu items and custom entities set to be indexed. After the upgrade, the first cron run wiped the sitemap (which now returns a 404) and the sitemap is stuck in pending.

I too am getting just a "Pending" I have it configured just like my other sites. I am using the dev branch. This was using 3.0 but i uninstalled everything and reinstalled and still the same issue. I am currently locked into 10.0.X so i'm unsure it that has anything to do with it. I am using domain access.
