Thanks for filing this issue. I tried this on Drupal 10.0.1 with PHP 8 and Drupal 9.4.10 with PHP 7.4 and wasn't able to reproduce this. What core version and PHP version did you use?
Module installed and all permissions set.
Go to Language Switcher Menu in admin
