Circling back to this issue as we're still blocked by the combo of lack of time and financial resources. Based on recent conversations in Slack, this is my sense of how our 'people' needs have evolved since the roles were first outlined above.
Fundraiser
Funding is our biggest need
We need people skilled at putting together sponsorships to fundraising campaigns able to help with issues like #3332738: Recognizing contributors and sponsors β as soon as possible. While I believe we have team members with skills/knowledge about these things but their availability is limited. Considering the overlap with DA on goals and infrastructure (like drupal.org) I think there could be opportunities to work with DA staff on joint partnership programs, sponsorships, and fundraisers.
Obviously, there are many others in the community with these skills but it's not clear if there's a channel, initiative, or contribution area where folks are gathered.
Project manager
Ideally, we'd be able to find one PM with interest and availability to handle the following types of projects and tasks:
- Drupal Contribution β - all tasks (existing and new)
- Funding β - all tasks related to Open Collective integration (not sure any exist at the moment)
- Drupal.org /community section β - IF we're restructuring and making additions and improvements to the Community landing page and Contributor Guide (see #3328127-5: Determine standard process for onboarding projects (working groups, etc) β for additional context)
- Open Collective - all related Open Collective platform issues (bugs, feature requests, etc)
Back end developer
Main need is help with #3331169: Migrate drupalcontribution.org to Pantheon β . There are folks already in the channel that previously had shown interest in helping. I can circle back and gauge current interest and availability. Post-migration, I'm not how much ongoing time will be needed to update and maintain on Pantheon. Probably not that much.
Social media coordinator
Not sure how much social media we'd be doing if we're not an initiative. Ideally, we could work with a contributor from an overlapping contribution area like https://opencollective.com/drupal-contribution/projects/drupal-marketing
Initiative lead
Assuming we can create the structure in #3328127-5: Determine standard process for onboarding projects (working groups, etc) β , we won't need an initiative lead ourselves (since we're an org, not an intiative). We do however need help clarifying goals, strategy, budgets, resource needs, and other org related things. Think there are elements of #3325045: Launch MVP for Drupal Contribution (project, org, collective & website) β that could be spun out into separate tasks. Pretty sure we already have team members that can help in these areas.
Hoping some other team members and contributors can chime in with their take on roles and resource needs.

With #3376683: Establishment of the Drupal Sustainability Team β coming online, Drupal Contribution will be focusing on sustaining contributors (not projects, teams, and initiatives). Transferring this issue as the latter now a responsibility of this new team.
