Nice you got the ball rolling! I'm very interested, and in some weeks i know if i can schedule time for this.
I saw the announcement of Automattic's Chatrix project today, and thought it looked like something that would jump-start efforts to create a Matrix-based embedded web chat for Drupal, something we've wanted for a while and have a couple interested customers. I won't be able to start development on this immediately, but as soon as I have a customer sponsoring this work I'll be digging in.
In the meantime, I would love to work with anybody who wants to contribute -- hit me up on Slack, @freelock -- or on Matrix, pop into #lobby:matrix.freelock.com and ping me if you're interested.
