After updating from 3.3 to 3.4 the update action gives an error that the color module is not enabled.
Disable the core-color module (if no other module uses it)
Update the image-effects module from 3.3 to 3.4 with composer.
Run update.php from the userinterface
The newest version needs in contrast to the previous version the color module from core.
This core module is now deprecated in core 9.5 and will be removed in version 10.
I know there is a replacement color module but until now I didn't install it because I don't need it for other modules.
If you enable the color module before upgrading the image-effect module, then the update.php doesn't give an error.
