Problem/Motivation

Hello, I cannot understand how to save the exported file to the //private (or the //public) files destination.

Steps to reproduce

A checkbox to choose where to save the exported file is present in the "File storage / Download" section, but it doesn't seem to work properly: the generated files ar not saved to any of the server files directory (//public or //private), but alwasy (only) downloaded...

Am I wrong? Any suggestion?

Thanx.

Yeah, so if VDE is generating the export of data in a single page request, then it doesn't need to save any files, it can do it all in memory.

If you are using the batched export, then yes, it'll generate the export and save it to disk. However the files are marked as temporary and Drupal should come along and clean them up, so don't use that as a long term storage solution!

    Hope that helps.
