Is it possible to get a new alpha release with this? Drupal 9 goes EOL in less than a month.

I don't think this module is maintained anymore. I would recommend switching to Search API Attachments → , which covers the same functionality as this module (indexing files for Elasticsearch) and is currently maintained.

I didn't think that module supported Elasticsearch search back-ends with the connector module. In fact, I see this issue https://www.drupal.org/project/search_api_attachments/issues/2795755#com... → where the maintainer of this module commented that he had created this module to support that use case. Though it's a bit confusing as the issue is on supporting DB back-ends - which id din't know was possible either. That's the only issue in that module's queue that even mentions Elasticsearch.

That module does support Elasticsearch, even if it's not obvious from the issue queue. We moved a site over from Search API Elasticsearch Attachments to Search API Attachments without any trouble.
When we were previously using search_api_elasticsearch_attachments, Drupal would send attachments to Elasticsearch and use an Elasticsearch pipeline to invoke Tika to extract text.
Now, with search_api_attachments, Drupal sends attachments to Tika then sends the resulting text to the search index as a field.

Well, we are going to upgrade to drupal 10 with the mglaman/composer-drupal-lenient workaround for this module.
That being said, let me know if there's a way I can help with getting this issue fixed. I can offer to co-maintain Search API elsaticsearch attachments to help releasing a drupal 10 compatible version.
